Grow in Practice : A Workshop to Dive Deep

With Kristin Venema

Saturday November 18th 2023

10:00AM - 1:00PM

The Yoga Sutras teach us that through consistent, steady and dedicated effort with great enthusiasm - through practice - we can go beyond what we ever thought possible and experience life with clearer purpose, greater understanding, and a refined sense of self. To Grow in Practice we must Dive Deep, beyond the surface, to explore the subtle, nuanced and often times hidden caverns of our psyche & physicality in order to taste the nectar of Moksha Shastra - the liberation teachings. Our Asana practice offers a mirror and an often times a gateway to these experiences when applied through the lens of a 8-Limbed Path.

In this 3 hour workshop we will explore Depth in Practice - physically through Asana by way of a Strong Vinyasa Flow with additional time dedicated to explore specific postures, modifications, variations and their applications, along with Relaxation, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga psychology and philosophy.

This workshop is geared towards both advanced and newer practitioners - anyone who is willing and interested will benefit from gifting themselves this time and learning through direct experience.

108 Sun Salutations : Welcome the Summer Solstice

With Kristin Venema

Wednesday June 21st 2023

7:00AM-8:30AM

In Yogic philosophy 108 is a sacred number which mathematicians from the Vedic tradition came to view as the number representing the wholeness of existence. Sun Salutations or Surya Namaskara means to "bow to the sun" and are traditionally practiced at sunrise facing the sun to bring in and give thanks for the life force energy which offers vitality to every living thing. Practicing 108 Sun Salutations is a meditative practice that connects the body, the mind, and the universe specifically when nature is undergoing a change or entering a new season. We practice 108 Surya Namaskars to mark the close of a chapter, and welcome new energy in.

This practice will be a heat-building moving meditation guided by breath rather than verbal or physical cues. We will move through 108 Sun Salutations over the span of 90 minutes, moving at the pace of our individual breath while syncing and building a collective energy. This practice is open to all levels of experience and is being offered for FREE to anyone who would like to join.
